Quinta do Pégo is without a doubt one of the most superb vineyards in the Douro River Valley. The scenery from the main terrace, at approximately 138 meters above sea level, is spectacular. According to historical documents, production of wine can be dated back to 1548, and most probably to the Roman occupation. Today, high-quality Ports and Douro reds are sold all over the world. It’s a “must-see” and a “must-taste”.

Quinta do Pégo is located in the Douro Demarcated Region, or more precisely, in the sub-region of Cima Corgo, centred around the town of Pinhão. It is also located in the heart of the area classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. The grapes grown in this area are considered of the highest quality, and thus are used for making Vintage and Late Bottled Vintage Ports.

Quinta do Pégo owns today 33 hectares planted with vines. The soil is classified “A”, which is the highest classification of the region. Vintage Port 2000, the first wine, was produced with grapes from the original vine stocks – a terrific craftsmanship that has settled the course for the years to come. Late Bottled Vintage, Douro red wines, and olive oil can also be purchased at Quinta do Pégo.
