Family owned and operated, Lake Forsyth Vineyard is situated on a gentle north-west facing slope above the head of Lake Forsyth on Banks Peninsula, about 60 km from Christchurch in New Zealand’s South Island. It has a warm meso-climate which is more like Marlborough than Canterbury. The soil is Canterbury loess on a base of Takahe clay, which has been deep-ripped and cross-ripped to allow control over moisture and vine vigour. The fruit can therefore be carefully monitored to ensure maximum flavour concentration. Trellis design has been carefully matched to the site.
