In 2005 the first wine was presented.
After a lot of work, Quinta da Barca launched BUSTO.
The selection of the brand BUSTO might not be immediately associated with the Douro Region, but the objective was to refer to the image of the Marquis of Pombal.

For this reason, in the first year (2005), the label of the “Busto Reserva Tinto 2005” was designed with the Bust of the Marquis. After 2005 authorisation to use the image of the Marquis was cancelled, and therefore the labels were redesigned.

In 2011, for the first time the work of Quinta da Barca was recognised with the CINVE 2011 Silver Medal for its “BUSTO Reserva Tinto 2008” red wine.
In 2013 “BUSTO Reserva Tinto 2009” red wine was awarded the Gold Medal at the Brussels World Competition. One of the most important competitions in the wine-producing world.
2016 was fabulous and the work by the entire team was rewarded at all of the international competitions in which they took part with different wines:
January 2016: “BUSTO Tinto Grande Escolha Touriga Nacional 2010” red wine was awarded the Silver Medal at CINVE 2016.
May 2016: “BUSTO Tinto Grande Escolha Touriga Nacional 2010” red wine was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2016 Brussels World Competition.
May 2016: “BUSTO Tinto Grande Escolha Touriga Nacional 2010” red wine and “Busto Reserva Branco 2014” white wine were both awarded the Silver Medal at the Citadelles du Vin 2016 competition.
August 2016: “BUSTO Reserva Tinto Touriga Nacional 2011” red wine was awarded the Gold Medal at CERVIM 2016; “BUSTO Colheita Rosé 2015” rosé wine was awarded the Silver Medal at CERVIM 2016; “BUSTO Moscatel Galego Branco 2015” white wine was awarded the Silver Medal at CERVIM 2016.
At CERVIM 2016, the company also received honourable mention because all of the wines sent to the Competition received awards!!!!!
At this time Quinta da Barca follows the philosophy of its current owners… Passion, Zest, Honesty and hard Work. This Quinta produces its wines with professionalism, using all of the experience and knowledge acquired over more than 30 years.
The future will certainly bring more national and international recognition, as well as new projects.
