Description de Mad - Haus Marienberg : The winery MAD – Haus Marienberg is in the wine growing area Neusiedlersee – Hügelland. We have 30 ha vineyard and produce 75% red wine and 25% white wine. The main grape variety is Blaufränkisch, after that is Zweigelt and the Welschriesling.
Our soils are very difficult. We hove loamy, black earth soils in the hill and sandy loess soils near the Lake Neusiedl. The region has a pannonian climate, with strictly winter and hot summer.
Matthias and his son Sebastian works for the management. Christian the Son in law, is in the cellar and his wife Rafaela in the office. Tobias, the second son from Matthias helps his uncle in the cellar and in the vineyards.
Great wine lives, it changes and ripens. Our respect for this property defines our way of running a vineyard and making wine. Cheers!
